60 years since the great action filled Goldfinger had its debut featuring the world’s most famous car, a weaponized car with many features and special gadgets, also featuring Sean Connery as agent 007 with his own memorable introduction of himself: The name is Bond… The diorama started with a pre-owned Aston Martin DB5 in excellent condition, nice paint finish with no paint rash or noted defects, working gadgets which were tested: operational ejector seat, bullet proof shield which goes up and down behind the rear windshield, opening gas covers, opening tail lights, operational front and rear bumper mounted rams, revolving license plates front and back, and the tire slasher. The original box Danbury Mint box and foam cradle are in excellent condition. The car comes complete with the ejector seat, Sunroof panel, spare tire, and the spare tire cover. The car also has some of the customary Danbury Mint features such as an antenna which raises and lowers, operational steering and suspension, pivoting sun visors, detailed engine and interior and of course a spare tire, opening doors, trunk, and hood. Included are two Corgi Icons figures, Odd Job and the ultra rare Sean Connery figure as James Bond. Both figures are in excellent condition, the boxes are very good with some shelf wear due to age. Included also is an “M” figure by Gilbert. The M figure was removed from the original black stand and a more better looking smaller clear stand, the figure was completely repainted and it looks much better than how it looked when it was new. A brand new American Diorama bikini figure was painted gold using premium foil metallic 18 KT gold spray paint and was then added to the diorama. Two new 10″ by 8″ Artist’ Loft Canvas were used to create a base and a background, the were connected to each other at a 90 degree angle. The base was painted with the same premium 18 KT gold spray paint and a Goldfinger poster re-print covered the background. Completing this project took many hours and I hope that the person(s) who end up purchasing this 007 diorama will really like it and enjoy it. Also included is a Title, an original unpacking and care instructions booklet showing how all of the gadgets work including the amazing ejector passenger seat which really springs up in the air, as well as an introduction letter from the Danbury Mint and 2 nice Goldfinger/ Sean Connery prints. I did not think that I Would be be able to do any more similar sets because the Corgi Icons James Bond / Sean Connery figure is so very rare and so very difficult to find, and the Odd Job is also becoming rare but I was able to find some.
